Raktabja (Sanskrit: romanized: Raktabja, lit. 'blood seed') is a Hindu asura. According to the Puranas, he fought alongside Sumbha and Nisumbha against the goddesses Kali and Chandi, both of whom were manifestations of Durga. Raktabja had received a boon from Shiva that whenever a drop of his blood fell on the ground, a swarm of Raktabjas equal to his strength, form, and weapons would emerge from the spot.
